The Shoshone OHV Trail System has approximately 50 miles of maintained OHV routes for vehicles less than 50 inches wide, open all year but with optimal conditions from July 1st to November 30th.
Camping
Camping is allowed at the OHV Trailhead. Dispersed camping is allowed throughout the Shoshone. Developed camping is provided at the Mill Creek Recreation Site (https://go.usa.gov/xn2Dx) six miles north of the Red Rock Road.

The Shoshone OHV Trail System has approximately 50 miles of maintained OHV routes for vehicles less than 50 inches wide. The trail system is open all year, however snow and mud inhibit access during the winter and wet seasons. For optimal conditions and to minimize disturbance of wildlife, use is recommended from July 1st through November 30th. Camping is allowed at the OHV Trailhead. Dispersed camping is allowed throughout the Shoshone. Developed camping is provided at the Mill Creek Recreation Site (https://go.usa.gov/xn2Dx) six miles north of the Red Rock Road. From Battle Mountain travel south 26 miles on State Highway 305, then turn EAST onto Red Rock Road (GRAVEL). Proceed three miles to the trailhead.

State residents
Nevada residents: nearly every OHV over 70cc and model year 1976 or newer must be registered and display a Nevada OHV decal. Titling is $21 and the decal is $20, valid one year.
Out-of-state riders
Out-of-state riders: Nevada's registration requirement is written around vehicles operated in the state rather than around residency. ⚠️ Confirm your situation with Nevada DMV before you ride, do not assume your home-state sticker covers you.
